With over 40,000 square feet of event space; including an 11,817 square foot Discovery Ballroom, a contemporary Nightclub and gorgeous Event Lawn; we can offer a unique experience that your guests will remember forever.
BALLROOM
The entrance to the 10,000 square foot Discovery Ballroom and a pre-function event area is highlighted by an alluring onyx tile wall. Featuring a rare type of onyx imported from China, the unique 2′ x 2′ tiles use LED lighting to create a warm amber glow. Opposite the onyx wall is a captivating glass tile wall that features handcrafted tiles made in New Mexico, especially designed for Ameristar. Twelve-foot custom wood doors provide a grand entrance to the ballroom. Inside, Discovery can host up to 1,000 guests and offers a state-of-the-art built-in audio-visual system that will add the right touch to your wedding reception. The Ballrooms are designed with special sound attenuation fabric ceilings and walls to provide optimum acoustic capabilities that allow multiple events to occur simultaneously. The high-end acoustic material also is used on the divider walls, which separate the Discovery Ballroom into four separate rooms tp accommodate smaller events
The 3,800 square foot junior ballroom, Imagination Ballroom was designed with the same quality as Discovery can accommodate weddings for up to 300 people.
NIGHTCLUB
Ameristar’s most cutting-edge event space, the Nightclub and Lounge, is the perfect reception location for couples looking for a different twist to the traditional wedding reception. The space, designed by Thomas Shoner (ICE Las Vegas, Smart Bar, Crobar Chicago) blends comfort and style with enchanting decadence. The 17,500 square foot club features two distinct rooms, a high-energy nightclub and an inviting lounge, each complete with their own separate top-of-the-line sound system.
As guests enter through the candle-lit stone façade foyer, they are welcomed into a luxurious, intimate lounge highlighted by caramel colored couches, recessed banquettes, and a signature six-foot fireplace. Ambient lighting, a DJ booth, and three 42-inch plasma televisions behind the bar complete the smart and sophisticated design.
Dedicated to please every desire, the main nightclub has two 30-foot bars on each end of the venue with three five-foot red chandeliers centered overhead. Five red-leathered recessed banquettes rise above each side of the club and surround a 30 by 60 foot Brazilian walnut wood dance floor framed by 20 bottle service tables. A DJ booth along with state-of-the-art sound and lighting complete the cutting edge yet elegant environment.

About Patty Long Catering
Patty Long Catering has become a household name when it comes to upscale catering and events planning in the St. Louis area. We are a catering company that owns the 9th Street Abbey, River Bottom Saloon, and the Point of View.
Patty and Long are Deborah Patty and Joan Long. They met and became friends while working as international flight attendants for TWA. When TWA went on strike, in the spring of 1986, Deborah and Joan found themselves with no
job, and decided to put their love of culinary arts to work and start a small catering business and bistro on Lafayette Square. A few years later, Deborah sold her interest in the business to Joan and relocated to sunny California.
In the summer of 1992, Joan and her husband, Wayne, acquired a historic church building that’s come to be known as 9th Street Abbey. Now, the Abbey serves as Patty Long Catering’s elegant headquarters. Over time, the patty
Long name has become synonymous with eclectic dining and special events.

Located in the historic Soulard neighborhood, the building, the 9th Street Abbey, which dates back to the 1850s, has tall rib-vaulted ceilings, original stained glass window panels, and a phenomenal outdoor patio and bar area. It seats up to 250 guests and since we own the building, we do not charge for equipment so all of your essentials tables, chairs, glassware, flatware, china, in-house sound system with PA, CD and ipod hook up, and we offer black, white and ivory table linens with about 20 different napkin colors…all included at no additional charge. Plus, we’ve been fortunate to develop a talented and loyal staff over the years.
