What does it mean when a professional photographer says process & edit?

To a professional wedding photographer the work for a couple’s wedding just begins after the wedding day is done.  Many don’t realize most of a professional wedding photographer’s time is spent in front of the computer processing and editing for hours on end.  The average editing time or 2 photographers for an all day wedding is 30 to 40 hours.  This is without doing special effects or major retouching but just general edits such as the one’s displayed below.

Many times in public parks such as the Arch Grounds especially on a beautiful day there is a sea of people to work around.  Some you can truly work around while others you just know you have to edit out later.  Here is an example of that fix.  Plus a little brightening and lighting of the overall image was done.

This couple chose a absolutely gorgeous setting for their wedding at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. It was truly picture perfect minus the “horns” growing out of their heads from the trees in the background. Nothing a little editing won’t fix.

Part of the standard service Artistic Soup Photography provides is to do all these edits upfront so your images loaded to your online viewing & print ordering portal AND the images provided on your Hi-RES DVD are just as the should be…Picture Perfect.

Katherine & Matthew Wed: April 2, 2011

Katherine & Matthew were married on April 2, 2011 at the Missouri Botanical Gardens Japanese Garden. The day was picture perfect and every last detail was impeccable. Rosewood Ensemble performed at the Ceremony and Reception. Before reaching the Gardens, Artistic Soup Photography met the bride at the Chase Park Plaza for preparation photos and then we proceeded to Washington University as well as the Arch Grounds which both made for distinctive beautiful backdrops.

A Big Thank you Katherine, Matthew & their family and friends for a wonderful day! It was an honor to be a part of the festivities.

Lyon’s 9th Month Session

Little baby Lyon and the complete Hare Family met Artistic Soup Photography at the picture perfect Ameristar Casinos {which is an amazing location to host a wedding} for family photos this past Sunday. After photographing the Hare Family for the last 4 years its wonderful to always see them, see how the kiddos have grown and is much like photographing my own family. We had a fun time as usual. Here is a small highlight of the results.

Mareily + Eric’s Wedding Album Highlight

Mariely and Eric were married September of 2008 but waited till now to complete their album. Their wedding was picture perfect. Their ceremony was at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis and after a stop by Forest Park’s Grand Basin the reception followed at the Missouri Athletic Club Downtown.

Below are some highlights from their album that we recently designed.
